From London to Lyon, mosaics as a new chapter

A reborn passion

Originally from Toulouse, Alice Sauvage has always had a passion for mosaics. From the age of 20, she expressed her creativity by creating her own designs on furniture. However, her professional career took her to London where she held a position as marketing director in a pharmaceutical group.

A new breath of fresh air

It was during the lockdown in 2020 that the flame of mosaic rekindled in her. This period offered her the opportunity to reconnect with her passion and devote herself to it fully. Determined to explore this art, she joined the London School of Mosaic in September 2021.

Learning and growth

Under the guidance of Catherine Parkinson, a renowned mosaicist, Alice refined her practice and discovered new techniques. She notably participated in the "London Bridge Mosaic" project, a monumental 57-metre wall created for Transport for London and Network Rail. This enriching experience allowed her to put her skills to the service of a large-scale collective creation.

A new start in Lyon

In July 2023, Alice moved to Lyon and became a resident at the gallery-workshops l'Alcôve , located in the Croix Rousse slopes district. It is in this new inspiring environment that she continues her artistic exploration and brings her own unique mosaics to life.

Artistic inspiration

Alice Sauvage aka ALSo: a mosaic artist who shakes up the codes

Far from bathrooms and kitchen splashbacks, ALSo invites mosaics to take their place in a vibrant and bold universe. Inspired by modern art, street art and pop culture, it gives birth to unique paintings that celebrate color, material and recycling.

POP MOSAIC: an explosive style

Like a kaleidoscope, ALSo's style, called "POP MOSAIC", bursts with vitality. Inspired by artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Niki de Saint Phalle, Nick Cave or Bordalo II, she weaves mosaics where collages, patterns, textures and bright colors meet. Her raw material? Treasures found: leftover tiles, objects destined for oblivion, natural finds... Each element tells a story and integrates into the work to give it a unique soul.

A committed approach

Driven by an ecological conscience, ALSo offers a second life to materials destined for destruction. By exploring flea markets, unsold stocks and natural landscapes, it draws its inspiration and gives life to a sustainable and meaningful mosaic.

An art accessible to all

Beyond technique and aesthetics, Alice Sauvage wants to share her passion and make

mosaic accessible to all. She runs workshops, exhibits her works in various places

and invites the public to discover the beauty and diversity of this ancestral art.
